For more than 170 years, the YMCA has been driven by a simple but powerful idea: when people come together to serve their neighbors, communities grow stronger. What began in 1844 with a small group of volunteers in London has grown into a nationwide movement, with nearly 600,000 volunteers across the United States supporting the Y’s mission. Together with staff, these dedicated individuals help millions of youth and adults each year build confidence, improve health, and foster meaningful connections.
At the Newport County YMCA, volunteers are at the heart of this work. They welcome all, build relationships across differences, and use their time and talents to meet evolving community needs—whether coaching, mentoring, leading programs, or serving in leadership roles.
We invite you to explore volunteer opportunities to find a role that matches your interests, skills, and schedule. Join us in making a difference—your time and talents can help strengthen our community.
