Discover Child Watch: A Caring Space for Your Kids

Experience convenience, safety, and wellness – all in one place.  Key Details: 

  • Child Watch caters to children aged 6 months to 12 years. 
  • Children may receive care for up to two hours per day. 
  • Safety is our priority; we maintain a limited number of children in Child Watch at all times. 
  • Availability is on a first-come-first-serve basis, and reservations are not accepted currently. 
  • This incredible service is complimentary for all Newport County YMCA Family or Single Parent Family Members, but reciprocal access from other Y facilities is not permitted. 
  • While your child(ren) are in our care, we kindly request that you remain in the building.

Child Watch Hours

Weekdays: 
8:00am-12:30pm
4:00pm-7:30pm 

Saturdays: 
8:00am-12:00pm 

Guidelines for Parents/Guardians:

Parents/Guardians must remain on the premises while their child(ren) are in Child Watch. 

Sign your child(ren) in and out of Child Watch during every visit, specifying your location within the building. Once signed in, children of all ages cannot leave the program until signed out by a parent/guardian. 

Only the designated parent/guardian or a pre-authorized individual can pick up a child. Please have a photo ID ready for both drop off and pickup. 

If your child requires assistance in toileting, we will notify you to either change a diaper or accompany them to the bathroom. 

If a child remains upset or inconsolable for 10 consecutive minutes, a parent/guardian will be asked to sign them out. 

Child Watch is not responsible for personal items or toys brought into the area.
