Youth Sports

YMCA volunteer-led, coed, youth sports leagues focus on the following values: everybody plays, the emphasis is on fun, teamwork, and fair play is of utmost importance.

Health & Wellness

The Newport County YMCA’s Group Exercise has a comprehensive fitness and wellness schedule that serves the novice to advanced participants. Class offerings include yoga, hip hop, indoor cycling, Pilates mat-based workouts, kickboxing, body sculpting, step, and impact workouts. Our instructors are nationally certified by ACSM (American Council of Sports Medicine), ACE (American Council of Exercise), and/or AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America). Their experience ranges from national fitness champions/competitors, certified yoga instructors, and professional dance instructors to pharmacists, nurses, teachers, artists, and moms!

Our certified professional personal training team is trained to work with all populations from the novice to the advanced exercise enthusiast. All training sessions are scheduled to accommodate each individual’s needs.

Our personal training programs provide individual attention in a private setting away from our Wellness Center.

Gymnastics

The YMCA gymnastics program is patterned after the U.S.A. Gymnastics Federation Junior Olympic Program. We offer beginner through advanced instruction. Our goal is to help each child achieve their highest potential through proper skill progression with safety as our number one concern.

Adapted Physical Activity

These programs are for individuals with disabilities as well as individuals who need adaptations to activities to be able to participate. Classes are taught by experienced professionals. Sessions are 45 minutes unless otherwise noted. Scholarships are available. Contact Newport County YMCA for class schedules and availability.
