SERVING MORE KIDS
CHILD CARE EXPANSION AND RENOVATIONS
Child care and preschool programs play a critical part in the success of both children and their parents. Pre-K programs lead to better outcomes for children both in school and the years beyond. For families, access to high quality, reliable and affordable child care is a game changer. For parents to work outside the home, especially in a full-time capacity, they need to know their children will be well cared for.
Our current childcare facility has served the community well for over 30 years. We are committed to serving the next generation. An expansion and renovations to our Twice as Nice Child Care will provide an affordable, safe, and accessible environment where all children will receive high quality care to help them learn, grow, and thrive. Children and families will also benefit from positive relationships between people of different backgrounds, fostering a greater appreciation of community and diversity.
Most important: we will greatly increase the number of children we can care for, supporting families and providing kids with building blocks for life.

A CRITICAL NEED FOR CARE
- There is a lack of affordable high-quality childcare in Newport County – especially for infants and toddlers. Young families are struggling to find a place where they know their child will be well cared for.
- Children who begin kindergarten without adequate preparation struggle to perform on par with their peers.
- Our program is currently at capacity and 40 children are on the wait list.

YOU CAN MAKE THIS HAPPEN
A recent grant of $3,150,000 from Rhode Island Early Childhood Care and Education Capital Fund was a major catalyst in making this dream a reality.
Total project costs will be $5,300,000. Currently we are 85% to our goal of a fully funded center.
Today we are seeking continued philanthropic support from the community to expand our capacity to serve more children and families.
