Meet The Coaches

Zach Simpson
I am the OAC Coordinator at the Newport County YMCA. I was born in Maryland and attended high school in Virginia before moving to Rhode Island in 2021. I was raised playing sports and got involved in coaching at the age of 16. I’ve coached many different sports ranging from freestyle snowboarding to youth soccer. I am very excited to give back to the community by helping our players learn new skills both on and off the field.

Chris Ferris
I am the Sports Coordinator here at the Y. I have been working this program for the past three years. Sports have been a huge part of my life! I played Football and Baseball in high School. I look forward to every session and helping a whole new generation of athletes.

Liam Clancey
I was born and raised on Aquidneck Island. I started playing soccer and basketball at the YMCA when I was just 5 years old. Today, I look to give back to my community as a youth sports coach here at the YMCA. While being involved in sports I have learned many lessons such as, dedication, leadership, teamwork, and the most important aspect of all, having fun! I will continue to deliver these lessons as a coach here at the YMCA!

Trey Cruz
I was also born and raised on Aquidneck Island. I’ve been involved with team sports and the YMCA for majority of my life! I started playing soccer in the 8th grade and instantly fell in love. Sports as a whole has been a big part of my life and has brought me many friends! After seasons of coaching I would say my favorite part is seeing players improve while having fun.

Austin Radkovich
I am from Enfield Connecticut. There I played sports my whole life , I played all sports growing up but started to focus on Football, Basketball, and Lacrosse! I believe sports are a great tool for kid’s development and believe that in order to get the best out of the kids I need to give my best to them. I look forward to seeing the kids progress over time with their hard work!
