Youth Programs

The YMCA offers an environment that fosters individual growth and success through programs that develop a healthy spirit, mind and body. All our programs are designed to help participants achieve both physical and social goals that are designed to make them stronger, happier and more independent people!

Group Classes

All group classes are 45-minutes once a week and cost $65 for members and $85 for non-members unless otherwise noted.

Adapted youth programs

Swimming

  • Advance Swim- This program is for swimmers who already know how to swim but wish to improve their swimming skills and build their stamina. This swim class is open to any participant who can swim over 25 yards without a rest.
  • Teen Social Swim- This program will focus on cooperation and social skills through games in the water. Participants will not be taught how to swim but will build stamina. This program is open to participants ages 13 to 21.
  • Kids Social Swim- This program will focus on cooperation and social skills through games in the water. The participant must be able to swim, or an adult needs to be in the water with them. This program is open to participants ages 5 to 14.

Gymnastics

  • Teen Gymnastics- This program takes place in the Gymnastics Center where we utilize the foam pit, uneven bars, and trampoline while working on our flexibility and strength. The class is geared for youth ages 13 to 21 years-old.
  • Kids Gymnastics- This program is for children 5 to 12 years-old who are looking for a fun time learning gymnastics. The class takes place in the Gymnastics Center where we utilize the foam pit, uneven bars, and trampoline while working on our flexibility and strength. The class is geared for youth ages 5 to 14 years-old.

Wellness Programs:

  • Beginner Strength Training- This class is an introduction to use the Wellness Center. Cardio equipment and other exercise equipment will be used. The goal of this program is to assist the individuals in creating a fitness/exercise routine that they can complete with little to no assistance.
  • Advance Strength Training-This class is for individuals who wish to improve on their fitness goals and learn proper form and technique in both our Wellness Center and Weight Room. The goal of this program is to assist the individuals in creating a fitness/exercise routine that they can complete with little to no assistance.
  • Zumba- an aerobic fitness program featuring movements inspired by various styles of Latin American dance and performed to pre-selected dance music.
  • Yoga– a class that uses breath control, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific bodily postures, to help reduce stress, anxiety while increasing flexibility, strength and confidence.

Social Events

Teen Social Night- For teens of all ability levels, ages 13 to 21 years-old. Come swim, play Wii, do sports, jump in the foam pit, bounce house, eat pizza, meet new friends, and reconnect with old friends! This is for teens with and without disabilities!

Individual Classes

These classes can be planned at a convenient time for both the instructor and the participant. Classes come in groups of 8 and can start at any time.

Private Swim-30-minutes of individualized instruction focusing on the needs of the participant such as swimming, range of movement, and water safety. This program cost $100 for members and $120 for non-members.

Youth Adapted One-On-One Activity- 8 45-minute sessions of one-on-one instruction for a specified activity. The activity can vary from gymnastics, sports or strength training. The program is created to meet the needs of the specific child. The cost is $115 for members and $135 for non-members.
